Cal/OSHA trainer Edgar Gonzalez will discuss key regulations for outdoor agricultural operations, including proper lighting for vehicles and equipment, high-visibility clothing, and pre-shift safety meetings. He will also demonstrate how to use a standard light meter.

OSHA created the lockout/tagout standard to cover the servicing and maintenance of machines and equipment in which the "unexpected" energization or start-up of the machines or equipment or release of stored energy could cause injury to employees.

This Lockout and Tagout Certificate 1-Hour course addresses practices and procedures that meet OSHA requirements for disabling machinery or equipment to prevent the release of potentially hazardous energy. At the same time, maintenance and servicing activities are being performed.

Educational Benefits

Participants will become more informed and safety-conscious leaders in their workplaces by gaining practical knowledge of OSHA-compliant procedures to control hazardous energy and by learning best practices to ensure worker safety during night-harvest operations.
