Women's Leadership Program
“The Women’s Leadership Workshop helped us understand that we, as women, are talented and to leave behind the fear that keeps us from being leaders. After the workshop, I felt like I could do anything! ”
The Women’s Leadership Program supports new and aspiring female vineyard supervisors in Napa Valley's wine-grape industry. This one-day workshop series, launched in spring 2022, brings together supervisors and connects them with senior leaders and expert trainers, fostering a collaborative environment for career advancement.
Designed to build essential leadership skills, the program guides participants through a strengths assessment each spring. This provides a common language for discussing leadership qualities and strategies for leveraging personal strengths in the workplace. Health and wellness, recognized as fundamental to strong leadership, are integrated throughout the sessions.
Each year, a new cohort joins in the spring, with a follow-up workshop in late summer where all alumni are invited to reconnect, share experiences, and expand their network within a larger community. Participants are also supported through a dedicated WhatsApp group, where they can ask questions, share resources, and offer encouragement.
This platform also allows for continuous feedback, helping to shape follow-up workshops. Past sessions have included virus identification training with UCCE Davis and team-building activities that participants can implement with their own teams.
Through the Women’s Leadership Program, participants gain the skills, confidence, and network needed to excel as leaders, with a strong emphasis on both professional growth and personal well-being.
